This part of Zeeland, Zeeuws-Vlaanderen – the region in which Hoofdplaat is situated – could
easily have been a part of Belgium – at least, geographically speaking. In this region, famed for its hospitality and good food and drinks, De Kromme Watergang holds its own.
This restaurant with its unique rooms is located just behind the Schelde dike. The owners, Edwin and Blanche Vinke run an international style restaurant with a taste of Zeeland. Only the best local products are good enough for the chef. The freshly caught fish comes daily from Breskens.
The restaurant’s huge kitchen gardenK, the Zilte Hof – is the other important source of ingredients. Three of the four suites are located in a new apartment complex in Breskens harbour. Behind the dunes of Breskens are gorgeous beaches with a view across the Westerschelde. The Belgian seaside resort of Knokke is right around the corner. The 210th box is here available and presented on each room.
